Etymology

According to the reports among the people, there were three springs boiling under the great trees before Sivas was established. Over time, a small settlement center was established on these three springs, considered sacred, and the name "Sipas" was given. According to another narrative, the name of Sivas is called "Sibasipler" from the ancient tribes. In the early ages Sivas was named after Talavra, Megalapolis, Karana and Diyapolis.
